So the top cop gets off unscathed? Aren’t they suppose to maintain positive control over all nukes under their protection?

From what I understand, this “spanking” of the Generals has to do with the nuke parts ending up in Taiwan and not the B-52 bomber that flew from Minot to Barksdale. Perhaps more Generals will be admonished later on.

Par for the course. They punish a guy who never commanded nuclear forces in AFSPC. Nuke wings are all in 20th AF. Hamel was 14AF/CC and as SMC/CC was responsible for sustainment and modernization of the ICBM systems. An ACC B-52 misloaded with live nukes and a mishipped DLA package has no ties to any of Hamel’s jobs over the past 15 years. If the 20AF CC and the AFSPC/CC Gen Kehler and previous AFSPC/CCs (Gens Lord and Chilton) don’t get punished, it is truly a whitewash job.
