Some of MY thoughts: I heard this when I was a pup at Leavenworth (the school, not the prison)
The US Military in toto was referred to, “The strategic policy implementation force”. Many times presidents have used the military as a national tool. Some times we the people agree, sometimes we don’t. AGAIN, hope we get a person who will do the right thing for future generations. AND unlike many nations on earth – even if you don’t like the choices – here you do have a choice. (consider,say, Belarus / Syria / pick one yourself.)

By the way, Ryan, My lovely, tall, slender, doe-eyed wife to be is an Arab. Some of them hate us because we’re (insert which you prefer – Christian, White, American, dadeda) — your thought and theirs are wrong. Pick your enemy with reason, not blind beliefs.

There is one common denominator between Clinton, Bush, McCain, Gore, Kerry, and the rest: They are all baby boomers. When McCain brings up dirt against Obama where does it come from? A domestic terrorist group from the 60’s and not Fannie Mae/Freddi Mac. Now we are going all Socialist/Marxist, must have skipped Communist somewhere. We paid more attention to Bush’s draft dodging and Kerry’s swift boating than we cared to pay attention to the real needs of our country.

It is amazing how one generation could completely divide a nation with their anger towards each other.

And who will drain my Social Security while also running the country into massive debt? That’s right, baby boomers.

The good news is suicides are up statistically among baby boomers these days. If enough of them die off my social security could be worth more than my 401K when I retire.

Oh, you might want to take a look at the ages of these golden parachute CEOs. Hmmmm, could there be a link?

I’m sure if you look back through history, beyond Dick Cheney you find many former Vice Presidents had a very strong role in Congress getting certain Legislation passed (i.e. George H.W. Bush, LBJ, etc…)

Hell, you people are acting as though McCain is going to be all “I do so solemnly swear–GUUURK!” and fall over dead on January 20th.

If that’s the case then we’re all hosed, because if the President and VP both get knocked out then Nancy Pelosi will be in charge.

The comments came in an interview with Colorado TV station KUSA in response to a third-grader’s question, “What does the Vice President do?”

“[T]hey’re in charge of the U.S. Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes that will make life better for Brandon and his family and his classroom,” she said.

On another note, I am enjoying this too Sgt JFK. You and I must be on the same page. I can’t wait until those who are not on the same page catches up. To all that does not understand what is best for them, it is time for you to do your own homework. With that said, you would not be paranoid when it comes down to selecting an intellgent, focussed, and caring individual, a person such as Barack Hussein Obama.

Clinton did not cut six divisions from the Army. The first Bush did that when he reduced Regan’s 18 division force to 12. Clinton then went and cut another 2 divisions to bring the Army down to 10 divisions. I don’t think that was smart, but the facts are that the largest cuts by far were made by a Republican and that Clinton had all the military power he needed when he was in office.

On the other hand, the current Bush set out to fight not one but two wars. He (along with Rumsfeld) then went four years ignoring every call to expand the Army and Marine Corps to meet the new reality. That status remained until the Democratic minority working with some in the Republican party forced an expansion (in authorised strength — not in budget dollars) against Bush’s express wishes.

Anyways, if you want to blame someone for the size our military, don’t blame Clinton or the Dems. Try looking to the guys who thought we were going to have a quick and easy victory in Iraq. (And who marginalized, fired or retired everyone who tried to tell them otherwise.) The ones who still claimed four years after the shooting started there was no need to build up the size of our forces. You know — the idiots in charge.

Joe — Really?. Do us all a favor and don’t vote. Go back to your cabin with your shot gun and stay there. We’ll come get you when we need you.

Bulldozer241 — only one question. Do you follow every viewpoint of all your pastors, coworkers, friends, people you met in the supermarket line? I don’t! I listen to people’s perspectives, do some research and make up my own mind. Or you could be right and there’s actually a plot to rename the US, “United Soviet Socialist States of America”. Use your sense man.

JingoJane — I was in the USAF for 11 years and I served in Iraq amongst other visits to the “fun” side of the world. So I do have a clue about what’s going on and some of the issues at hand. (just don’t ask me to set up an acquisition process for anything though). Sadly enough SP has no clue what is going on in the world and that DOES matter considering McCain’s age and health. God forbid something was to happen to McCain (as I truly am a McCain fan as an individual) she is next in line. Really a bad pick for McCain. For the record, I’ve always voted Republican up to this election. I am only 35 though.

Kato Outdoors — I’m not saying Obama is perfect (although much less scary then SP) I would love it if he had a military background. But he doesn’t. He’s not perfect.

Grammaollie — Do you actually think the cut of 5 Army divisions involves enough money to give the US a surplus?!. And for the record I hated Clinton and Carter. They sucked! Crooked, incompetent and ruined the image of the US presidency.

SSgt. HKFLETCH — Again, the USAF. The reason you don’t see Biden with Obama is because he is competent enough to campaign on his own and is able to intelligently answer a question. (I bet he knows what magazines he reads too) SP can’t do that. Let’s see… Doesn’t know what the Bush doctrine is, thinks living in Alaska gives her foreign policy experience, abused what little power she has already (trooper firing), she couldn’t even name a magazine when asked. Listen to her interviews — they speak volumes.

Schlappy — SP has already said we should never question our ally’s judgment in protecting themselves. Israel has already asked us for support on an attack on Iran. Had she been in office we would be in a “Hot” probably undeclared war with half the Middle East. Not the smart way to do things.

Hope I didn’t miss anyone.

Remember we had to endure Jimmy Carter and the changes he represented before Ronald Reagan came along. The old saying about history repeats itself is an old saying because it is true.

Unfortunately I do not know who the next Ronald Reagan will be or else I would be a richer man than I am.

The Iraqis want us to leave now and Afghanistan may not be far behind so we have little choice no matter who is President. Be careful what you wish for Maliki and Karzai.

John McCain was in the military. He wants to “Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran”. These are great reasons to vote for him.
