They also got their own acquisition center in Space and Missiles Center in Los Angeles that reports not to AFMC, like all other acquisition programs, but direct to AFSPC.Acquisition needs to be under one set of rules and under AFMC where it belongs. The breakout of SMC was obviously done as AFSPC tried to break away from the Air Force and become their own branch of service.
