Torture Worries Bring Down Top Obama CIA Choice

Torture Worries Bring Down Top Obama CIA Choice

About two weeks ago a considerable amount of information was leaking from the incoming Obama administration (and those close to it) about possible choices to lead the intelligence community. That steady trickle dried up until today, when the New York Times published a story claiming that the top candidate to head the CIA, John Brennan, withdrew his name from consideration after some of Obama’s base slammed him for allegedly having a role in harsh interrogation techniques.

Brennan was an early supporter of Obama’s and served as one of his foreign policy advisors. He was chief of staff for former CIA head George Tenet, and served as director of the National Counterterrorism Center. He remains chairman of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, a Washington advocacy group for the intelligence community.

Retired Adm. Dennis Blair, former head of Pacific Command, seems to remain a candidate for Director of National Intelligence, although a former senior intelligence official criticized the idea. “He’s not an intelligence professional, and I’m not sure what the message is if the entirety of the intel apparatus in our nation can’t produce a person worthy of being the DNI,” the former official said.

Here are the top remaining possibilities for CIA director. Former Rep. Tim Roemer (D-Ind.), who helped sponsor the legislation that created the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks upon the United States, known as the 9/11 Commission, and co-chaired the commission, is still hanging in there. Roemer, a senior member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence before leaving Congress to lead the commission, was a fairly early supporter of Obama, endorsing him in late January. He is president of the Center for National Policy. a Washington thinktank with Democratic tendencies.

Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif), a Blue Dog Democrat who House Speaker Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) forced off of the HPSCI, could be either head of CIA or DNI. Harman, who is chair of the House Homeland Security subcommittee on intelligence, information sharing and terrorism risk assessment, represents the district where most of America’s highly classified spy satellites and keeps a close eye on legislation affecting these assets. Given the success of left-leaning Obama supporters in sidelining Brennan, Harman may face an uphill battle.

The dark horse candidate for CIA, Christopher Tucker, is senior vice president for national programs at erdas (formerly known as Leica Geosytems). He was the founding chief strategic officer at In-Q-Tel, the CIA’s venture capital fund. Tucker serves as a board member of the U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation.

Obama’s intel transition team doesn’t seem to have many likely candidates for the senior intel jobs.
Brennan’s co-leader of the transition team, Jami Miscik was former deputy director for intelligence at CIA and is now global head of sovereign risk at Lehman Brothers. Miscik led the agency’s analysts when they produced the infamous National Intelligence Estimate concluding that Saddam Hussein’s Iraq probably possessed weapons of mass destruction. Her role in the NIE, not to mention her association with the now bankrupt Lehman, would probably kill any chances she would have of getting Senate confirmation.

Another woman, Jennifer Sims, would appear to have a better chance. She was the State Department’s first coordinator for intelligence resources (1998–2001) and planning and is now Georgetown University’s highly regarded director of intelligence studies. Before working at the State Department, Sims was a professional staff member on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence Committee and an aide to former Sen. John Danforth (R-Mo.).

There is one currently-serving intelligence professional on the team. Caryn Wagner, budget director of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, was chief financial officer for the Director of National Intelligence and serves on the board with Brennan at the Intelligence and National Security Alliance.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bob Harding, former director of operations at the Defense Intelligence Agency and deputy to the Army’s Chief of Intelligence, is the last name we know of on the transition team. He is now head of his own firm, Harding Security Associates. If anyone knows more about him, feel free to let us know.

Effie and Collin, needs to open their eyes and ears … and quite listening to FOX and the mainline news and get to the REAL TRUTH!! BUSH has all but nearly destroyed OUR Nation … as for whimps … consider that BUSH was a deserter from the military during wartime. And a few years back he went off in a Exec Meeting with the House concerning OUR precious Constitution; where he was quoted to call that monumental document just a “goddamn piece of paper” that he didn’t want thrown in his face. BUSH is a war criminal [of many crimes he has committed while serving WE THE PEOPLE]… if that isn’t enough to be embarrassed about … I don’t know what is. About all that he will accomplish once leaving the White House, is his full pockets from kickbacks from the Oil Folk. I dont know whether Obama or anyone will be able to rectify all the damaged propagated by that Howdy Doody lookalike!! It may take the next 2 presidents to just scrape the surface of getting us back on our feet.

Its clear from the comments in this blog and article most neo-cons still don’t get him. Pres-elect isn’t selecting cabinet members based on former loyalties or solely on a left-leaning political bent. Competence is the primary basis on which the cabinet selections are being made. Effie I think you must be living in a cave how can you say “The way I see it; Bush did nothing that he should be[embarrassed] of. He is an honorable man, made his decision, and stuck by his decision. Bottom line.” He went to war based on a completely false premise; WMD –1. There we so little capability as to be insignificant; 2. Iraqi ties to terrorist –never proved by any intelligence. He made a bad decision and show poor judgment as did his cabinet members and vice president. They also show near-incompetence in the early occupation and failed to properly plan and provide adequate troop levels to police, control, sustain, and administer government and basic utilities to the populace leaving DoD to handle all of it at Rumsfeld’s insistence. –Plenty to embarrassed about!

“Every time we have had a Democrat in office, they have ALWAYS compromised national security, jobs, and the economy.” Are you kidding? Take a look back my friend to the economy Clinton left, who’s watch did 9/11 happened? The list could go on but this chestnut is warn out!

It really doesn’t matter a bit who he picks since his list is nothing more than a bunch of pacifists who are weak on terror & will negotiate with terrorists before confronting them & eliminating them. god save us all from this bunch of misfits.

So sad that Mark has been so misguided by the liberal media that he actually believes that Clinton was a good president. The whole sub-prime real estate started under his direction, he never defended against the attacks on the Lebonon Marine Barracks, the USS Cole and numerous other incidents. If he had, 9/11 would probably never happened. It did happen because the terrorist felt there would be no retribution for their acts, based on previous us behavior (under Clinton). Ever wonder why they don’t attack the Soviets? Because they know the Soviets will KILL them. As far as the economy, Clinton was lucky to come into office at the end of a recession and ride the dot.com boom. He did nothing to deserve credit for the economy.

A requirement for one of these jobs is the hide of an armadillo. You know those ultra liberal congress people are going to beat the stuffing out of you every time the New York Times reports you’re not a gentleman.

I don’t understand how the people of the United States “think” that Obama is going to “save us all” from the Bush Administration. The way I see it; Bush did nothing that he should be embarressed of. He is an honorable man, made his decision, and stuck by his decision. Bottom line. Every time we have had a Democrat in office, they have ALWAYS compromised national security, jobs, and the economy. Replican political system is that the form of government which is LEAST involved in the citizen’s affairs is the BEST type. Remember this: The government that gives everything to it’s people, is the same government that will TAKE it ALL AWAY from it’s people.

What’s wrong with the current director?? Mike Hayden is a proven intelligence professional and a retired USAF four star. He is top intell officer in this country!!

If the people who are so rabid in attacking our intelligence methods would consider this; If your family members were being held hostage by terrorists and they captured one of the terrorists would you recommend they gently interrogate them and find out this person will give no info.Or because of the situation say oh well, do what you think will get the info?

all you white supremist, sit back and let the most powerful man in the US do his job that have been screwed up by the president’s before him.

Mike Hayden have done a wonderful job as a head of the Agency, sick of hearing about torture done by agents, sorry, but when you are collecting intel or info from a terrorist or suspect you cannot walk into the room with a piece of candy and ask them to talk in exchange.
Is a dirty world out there.
Is not about race, who cares if Obama is blue, yellow or purple, is about doing a job as leading the most powerful country in the world,
I hope this election wasn’t about breaking the rules ;).

My first question is what is the job of the most powerful man in the US, is it to ensure the safety and well-being of the American public and how will that be accomplished compared to the way it was handled by the president’s before him.

Obama’s platform was built on change. However, he appears to be a politician like every other candidate before him. So what makes his agenda better than all the president’s before him?

I wholeheartedly agree with Jeff. I worked for General Hayden as one of his Directors while in the Air Force. He has the ability to think outside the box, not to mention he is a career Intelligence Officer that is respected by everybody in the Intelligence business. I also believe he puts America first and could care less about politics. Also, he is a kind and compassionate person despite the fact that some of his political detractors would have you believe the opposite. President-elect Obama should do everything he can to keep him as his CIA Director.

The presidential oath requires nothing more than the President “Uphold, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God.“
The world is becoming more of a cruel place every day. Unfortunately, while we do not believe in “an eye for an eye, etc.” some others in this world do believe in it. We have to protect our country and every citizen in it. The objective of others is to bring down our Democracy because they do not want other human beings to be free. It really is that simple. While we all may abhor some of the brutal methods that have been taken to preserve our freedom(s), no other choice is readily available. We have to be realistic, because Freedom isn’t free. A price was paid by our Fathers and Forefathers. We must continue to pay the price for our children and our progeny.

How can anyone aspiring to the presidency not be a “politician?” It is a key job requirement. Obama’s so-called leftist tendencies have been greatly exaggerated by right-wing talk radio personalities and their ilk. I have complete confidence that Obama will do a much better job as president than Bush did — or ever could — so we should stop sniping at him and let him do his job, inlcuding making the right choice for heading the CIA.

Could not agree with you more Effie! America is a very strong country who needs not whimp-out on things like terror! I just pray Obama won’t destroy this great country of OURS!!!!

Dixie — You’ve gotta cite your sources for such flailing hysteria or we may need to up your meds. Bush “was quoted”??? News to me, and I’m pretty familiar with the traitor talk on the web. To whom was his hatred of the Constitution made? Was that silly-billy Michael Moore hiding under a table with a walkie-talkie? Or was it that objective sweet-teddy-bear dude, Al Franken? And you’re right — it was Bush and only Bush who has single-handedly destroyed our nation–not the Senate, not the House, not the sub-prime lenders, not AIG, not the lobbyists, not the ACLU, not the ACORN thugs, not the environmentalist zealots, not the unions, not anyone who is affiliated with the Democrat Party. Heck, if I get a flat tire on the way home from work, I’ll betcha it was that America-hating war criminal Bush who did it. Heads will roll, you can be assured.

To the above — NOT!

Concur with Kubilus. Terrorists like to publize their torture and killings: beheadings, burnings. Why should be not use strong-arm tactics when interrogating a known terrorist? Sort of an “eye for an eye” approach!!!

Mark thank you for answering those questions, I appreciate it, it seems like some of these people can not think or read or they simply don’t have the intellict. As a retired AF member, I wonder who will try and fix this great country after 8 years of failure.

WAIT TILL THE NEW PRESIDENT GETS IN..THEN THE YOU KNOW WHAT WILL REALLY HIT THE FAN..There will be no intel..

Mark: who’s watch did 9/11 happened? The list could go on but this chestnut is warn out!

You’ve got to be kidding me. Who’s watch did 9/11 happen on. Bush’s and you know what. It never happened again did it. As far as Clinton goes. The first world trade center bombing, Kenya and Tanzinia, Khobar Towers, and the USS Cole. Yeah he had his eye on the ball didn’t he. All the attacks that occured during Clinton’s time were basically unanswered, and led directly to 9/11.

We didn’t know we had it so good as a nation with Ronald Reagan until after he left office. It’s been downhill ever since. Worse now, because Obama the Cool Empty Suit inspired people who are usually not inspired, and once his frauds are discovered, there will be heck to pay. He may wish he had treated Bush better on military and secruity matters (wow, we had no idea it would be so difficult to close Gitmo! They have really, really bad guys in there, who knew??). Obama’s lofty and childish campaign promises for change are drying up faster than a stranded jellyfish on the boardwalk. His new staffer choices are looking like a rerun of the Clinton years. We aren’t gonna get “hope” or “change,” but maybe we can “hope for a little bit of change.” Yeah, right, and we all know that he didn’t pick Hillary for Sec. of State to keep her from running against him in 2012 (wink, wink).

Throw all the weasels out…

“Replican [sic] political system is that the [sic] form of government which is LEAST involved in the citizen’s affairs is [sic] the BEST type.”

Yeah, the Pigs at the Trough really managed to stay out of our affairs…wiretapping, detaining citizens without writs of habeas corpus, raiding the Treasury to the tune of $10b/month…

“Uphold, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States, so help me God.” Indeed.

effie: It’s a myth that Dems always compromise nat’l security and intelligence while the GOP is alway good for it. After all, it was a Dem (FDR) who created the very first foreign intelligence apparatus in US history — the OSS, and another Dem (HST) who created the CIA from the OSS. And it was GOPers (Cheney, Libby and Novak) who most recently compromised our efforts to control nukes in Iran by outing a key covert agent in the effort, Plame. And the GOP is the least involved in the “citizen’s affairs”? It wasn’t the Dems who conducted warrant-less wiretaps of US citizens or used 9/11 as an excuse to arrest and indefinitely hold US citizens without recourse to the judicial system — not to mention “rendering” them offshore for interrogation that would be torture on our shores. No party is innocent of making egregious mistakes on national security, especially viewed in hindsight, but members of both have consistently acted in what they saw as the country’s interest. Sadly, being human without perfect foresight, both parties have been wrong many times.

Let’s give Obama a chance before we start calling him names and saying he’ll ruin the country. He’s picking good people, has the support of good people (e.g., Colin Powell who bailed on the current incumbant as soon as practicable), and seems to have the ability to bring people together.

He’s facing a tough job with every issue at or near need for immediate intervention: Our standing in the world, which was AAA+ after 9/11, is at zero after seven years of bungling and bullying. The economy is shipwrecked after hitting its high point in the late 1990s. Our military is in disasterous shape and heavily overly-committed. Recruitment would be nil if the economy offered any hope of a decent civilian job. Osama bin Laden is still free, the Taliban is again powerful in Afghanistan and we have 180,000 troops mired in Iraq. The jobs not lost in the recent economic crash have been shipped overseas. Our government has been hijacked for politicization (check out the Justice Department), ideological purity and a rejection of Constitutional balance of powers. Our national debt has doubled and is rising at an accellerating pace. The rich get richer while the rest of us pay for their economic largesse. The budget went from a surplus to seven consecutive years of ever-larger record deficits. Health care is more out of control despite fewer people having access to decent care. Our educational system has been dumbed down no end by a President who is proud that he never reads a paper. Poverty is expanding like never before. Our balance of payments is completely out of control. We’re spending more and more to import oil while doing little or nothing to establish energy independence. And we are dumping more money into the unjustifiable Iraq war every 60 days than it would take to harden every sensitive target (dams, electrical systems, bridges, refineries, etc.), protect every airport, seal our borders and search every imported container for contraband, illegals or terrorist supplies.

Yessir, we really ought to be thankful to the current incumbant and fear the next one.

Let’s face it. Things CANNOT get worse. Frankly, I’m looking forward to any change.

Okay. All of you neocons, right-wing idealogues and Obama/Clinton/Democrat haters, you can now tear me apart! But remember, Obama will still be the next President and you’ll eat your words when things do get better. I promise not to stoop to telling you “I told you so.”

Incidentally, Obama is neither Muslim, foreign born nor an al Qaida mole.

Once again its incredible to see every one bashing the president like everything is his fault. The finger pointing has got to cease its not helping at all! I will agree that the incoming admin is looking similar to what we have seen before which is simply politics as usual. The amazing thing as far as this article goes is none of the perspective DNI or DCIA are career intelligence personnel they are all political figures. Now I might not be the smartest guy on the block but would it not make since to put someone in charge who knows this business as a operative instead of as a political figure. These two positions should be the only two figures within any admin besides the SECDEF and SECSTAT that are able to be brutally honest with the COC. Wishful thinking, it will be politics as usual regardless who’s in office. Lastly, there is no such thing as a savior like many in our great nation think Obama will be. I notice he is already starting to see the daunting challenge he has before him from GWOT, international security, economy etc. many of his “campaign promises” are already being shelved. Its amazing once you get all the info the COC has how you change your tune.

Incidentally, Obama is neither Muslim, foreign born nor an al Qaida mole.
how do you know, you been sleeping with him !!!

Obama should close GITMO forthwith. Since liberals believe that prisioners should not be subject to harsh interrogation techniques and information obtained is unreliable, anyone violating the rules of war (not in uniform, hiding behind civilians, killing non-combatants, using religeous sites for attacks) who is captured should be immediately shot on the spot. That is how it has been done in the past.

A mistake made by the Bush administration was to bring prisioners to GITMO; it never should have been used and then there would be no discussion about it and how prisioners are treated, giving them “rights” or whether people in the administration are somehow tainted for being involved with it.

The prisioners are not entitled to be treated as POWs; they have no rights. If captured alive, after being interrogated, they should be turned over to the local government (Iraqis or Afghans) for trial for crimes committed on their territory.

To all my countryman,

All of you made good points both about the Democratic and Republican parties and their Presidents of the past present and near future. Thus I would say, they all had a part in our present state of being some more strident than others yet they all played a part. Hind sight is 20/20 and we can pick away at who done what, how they done it and what they should have or could have done to prevent our state of being.

The problem is some of our former leaders have not done right because they do not know what right looks like or refuse to accept it. And when they see right they think its wrong because all they know is what was right to them, which was wrong. How many of you know someone or know of someone on the job or in an organization that has been doing a procedure for some time and with marginal results and their excuse was I was taught that way or that’s what they’ve been doing here all along, or my predecessor done it this way so I thought it was right no one told me different. Does that make it right? I think not. They were focused on doing it a certain way be it right, wrong, or indifferent it was right to them and they did not want to make a suggested change because it did not feel right to them. After the change was mandated the results were greater and sometimes the complaining went on even when it made it better for them. Sometimes it was because they did not like the person making the change for whatever reason which had no validity on the change. When change comes that is right some people rebel against it, some in ignorance and some in pride driven stupidity.

Everything that looks good to you is not good for you and everything that tastes good to you is not good for you. In likeness things that do not look so good can be the best thing for you and things that do not taste so good to you can be the greatest thing for you. I am sure you can all think of some examples while you’re smiling.

With that being said, let us put our differences aside and accept corrective critical observational views that we have of our parties’ differences and see how they can compliment one another and hope that our new Presidency shares our perspectives as a people not as individual parties such as democratic V’s Republican etc…

I for one am a Scholar-Practitioner for change, “A Social Change Agent” and I believe things will change if WE ALL DO OUR PART as well to make it happen at the lowest level possible. President-Elect Obama earned the right of passage in becoming our country’s next leader and deserves the respect of WE THE PEOPLE in likeness.

In all fairness, we should continue to pray (as I am sure our country did with all the other Presidents) that God’s will be done and that our President-Elect Obama will allow God to order his steps. Let us come together and give our President-Elect an equal opportunity to prevail. After all, the election is over, he is our next President. IT’S SHOW TIME!

I am amazed at times at the comments on these web sites, as empty suit president Obama. There is nothing empty about this men. He is highly intelligent, calm, cool and collected in any crisis and has nothing in common with the Fox News and Mr. Martin created character. He has served over 8 years in the ILL. senate and certainly has more than 143 days experience in the political roam as we were hoodwinked with. He did not write 0 bills as spouted with a wink, but 129 alone the short time while he was in the US senate(can be found at the US Library of Congress web site for all senators and congressman)and alone 100’s of crime bills while in the ILL. senate. He graduated from Columbia with a BA, from Harvard with a law degree, was the President of the Harvard law review, taught constitutional law for over 12 years and you call that an empty suit? Could I ask what we shall call Gov. Palin than? I am a Christian and so is Pres. elect Obama. I am a Republican who voted for Pres. Obama due to the shuddering thought of someone who is not willing to blink an eye when a crisis evolves and has no idea about the rest of the world, a breath away from the presidency. Intelligence and Counter Intelligence is a tough business, and most females who have thrived to protect this nation and sworn to give their lives for it, just shuddered at the notion of a wink of an eye, finger pointing and a hike of the skirt. We thought we climbed over that mountain quiet a few years ago! I find the security team the Pres. elect has chosen to be some of the best out there. Bob Gates is a very honorable man and was a great Director of the CIA. General Jones is top notch and on and on…I think a lot of nay sayer’s should educate them self beyond Fox News, Hannity and “left the scene” Colmes,Rush Limbaugh and crew and maybe start filling up your suits with some knowledge. Good post Dr. J. I signed up for 77 days of prayer for the Pres. elect at the Presidential Prayer Team site and committed to do so daily and have belonged to that group for a few years now. I welcome you to join me at http://www.presidentialprayerteam.org.

God bless you all and maybe for once examine yourself what you can do to help this president out in this time of crisis our country faces. Start looking at statements as Sen. Saxby Chambliss made, as blocking everything Pres. elect Obama will bring forth, with a more critical eye honed by intelligence and not populist non-sense rhetoric. Want to hurt his nation keep going on the path of destruction it was heading for and keep walking that tight rope. As for me I am looking forward to a Department of Justice who will have the word Justice in it again, its been missing for awhile now. Waiting for the FBI to have their funding increased again, after the white collar crime division was cut by over 35 %, the investigative unit of public corruption by 55 % by the Bush administration. The back log needs to be taken care of now and new FBI intelligence agents should not have to wait 8 month for an e-mail account due to funding cuts.

Our enemies aren’t soft on their terror tactics, why should we be? It’s OK that they cut off heads and show it on the internet but we stop them from getting their beauty sleep and everyone goes whacko on us TORTURING them?? What’s with THAT??

Consider one other possibility…disarm C.I.A.‘s current practice of using US Citizens as involuntary subjects for D.E.Weapon testing!
There is already EMPIRICAL MEDICAL EVIDENCE of C.I.A.-paid re-do of an old Nazi “human experimentation” procedure recently updated to include hospital brain mapping and preparations for 24-hr Auditory Surveilliance and “NERVE PAIN” torture of selected US Democrats! MEDICARE pays the “cooperating” hospitals for preparing test subjectsfor torture. Doctors how have PROOF that these “preparations for torture” by Norwalk, CT Hospital can be VERIFIED by any doctor with a simple test that, for VICTIMS ONLY, shows permanent REMOVAL OF SYSTOLIC and DIASTOLIC markers! Tortures and 24-hr sleep deprivation of “selected test subjects” continues for 2 years by persons who IDENTIFY THEMSELVES as “C.I.A. employees”. One or more subjects have DIED (according to WEB reports). Test subjects abound in New York and CT. Simple web searches such as “directed energy+…turn them up. Listen to their horror stories before you ask Obama to keep trying to find a new C.I.A. Director that has earned promotion by participating in C.I.A.‘s dark deeds. C.I.A. must be DISBANDED so this country can, perhaps, once again hold up it’s head in international circles. For the full history and scientific verification of this CIA “research project”, read the ENTIRE 100+ pages found on the “mindjustice.org” web site. I believe Obama should DISBAND CIA entirely in order to hold up our heads in the international community! The torture is NOT just being done to enemies. The CIA test protocols have continued for more than 2 years to my knowledge. Lawsuits are already being WON in NY and will be going to court soon in CT. One Georgetown Law University Professor has taken an interest in digital recordings of C.I.A. torture sessions in the U.S. Whether C.I.A. is doing this “weapon testing” by themselves or in lock-step with their military contractors, they are NOT NOW working in other countries to protect U.S. citizens. They ARE working in lockstep with rich and highly organized MILITARY CONTRACTORS in an organization called “Directed Energy Professional Society”…DEPS. DEPS met in Monterey, CA last year and tried to hire a speaker who might teach THEM how to build them a DEW-PROOF SHELTER for their Monterrey, CA meeting. They ALL LIVE in the U.S.A.
I don’t think they are communting every day to protect us from “terrorists” in other countries.
C.I.A.‘s CT. work is in contracting with hungry HOSPITALS enticing them to grab “test subjects” who live alone, preferably Democrats, from their own homes. McRoc, 71 years, 2-yr survivor

Obama cannot govern alone. Let him make his appointments. Let them be placed under scrutinity. Let the system work. May God bless him and us all.

KEEP HAYDEN!

Have not a hoot whom Mr. Obama chooses but “Torture” must be OUTLAWED. This is the sort of activity we have fought AGAINST from our founding thru 1812 (impressment), Civil War (slavery), WWII
(the holocaust), Korea (communism). The way a Country is judged is by the way it treats its captured warriors. We cannot sink to their depths — it makes us no different than them. And the point that we went there makes us less.
IMHO

Hi There,

It seems to me that Chris Tucker (whom I don’t know) will be a refreshing change to head the CIA.
Clearly, based on the current advancement of Intel technology and the urgency of many world countries to reach for space related ventures, (Japan, China, India, and Russia itself upgrading Space technology at an accelerated pace) we need more assets focused on development of Geospatial technology, protection and strategic planning. W

If we lose any Americans on US soil because we could not get information from a terrorist because of Obama policy of no torture, then He and every member of his cabinet, every member of congress that voted for this approach and every judge who upheld his no torture should resign from there office.

Why, because

THEY FAILED IN THEIR DUTY TO PORTECT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE BY ANY MEANs NECESSAY.

it is important whom Obama administration would choose the next man. but it is also important as the man with such responsibility would not only protect America but also its alllies including its new ally India, may god bless America.

I can’t believe the blind IDIOCY of the “Fat, dumb, and clueless” wasting away the society and economy of “My” America. Putting a Femi-NAZI like Nancy Pelosi in as the Director of the CIA is the equivalent of putting a chicken farmer in charge of the SS. And that Idiot that refers to us all as “White supremacists” is a Black NAZI militant guided by the so called preachiness of the Infamous Rev. Wright.

The “TRUE” clueless people in this country are the fools that see the world through rose colored glasses or the ones that cheered OJ Simpson when he got acquitted for killing two people NOT because he was innocent but because he beat the system aka. “The MAN”.….….Idiots.

I just found out that the dark horse candidate, Chris Tucker, has a shot at being the next Director of the CIA. I worked for Chris Tucker (Phd, Columbia Univ) at Erdas, and before that at Ionic. Without hesitation, Chris would make a great Director of the CIA. He’s young, smart, and he would be perfect for the job. As someone that voted for Bush twice and Obama this time, I’ve been impressed with his selections for national security thus far. Gates, Gen. Jones, Biden, Clinton, and hopefully Chris Tucker. That would be an awesome national security team.

Again I will say that “participatory citizenship” is what it is all about with your discussion. We all are smarter for expressing ourselves. It seems to me that some people may get left behind with the pace that Obama in Chief is running. People used to say that the human body was not meant to go faster than a horse. Torture will go on as a need basis. The problem was making laws to make it legal. We have fought against people that made it legal

before.

Some people are still in shock over the new administration. I know I live in a red state, Texas. Some cities even advertise on billboards,“slowly resisting change since 1800’s.” President Obama is an over the horizon kind of guy, while we tend to look backwards first. If I am reading him right, buckle your seat belts and put on your 3-D glasses because we are going on an intellectual ride. I will say to you, do not waste your time defending what is the former Presidential Deferred Judgement Panel, since they may all end up in jail soon, but look forward and learn from each other.

OK.….now that Obama has been in office for about 3 months…what do you think now? Lot’s talk “stimulous package” shall we?

Can’t wait for them taxes to go up in every aspect of our lives! Not only gas, food, energy; but hey, now they are looking at imposing a tax on how many miles we put on our vehicles!!! This is just freaking awesome!
(severe sarcasm)

well folks, how about that national deficit?

well, are you happy with the cartoon show he’s (Obama) put on the past 2 years? enough is enough!
It’s actually more like the 3 stooges all rolled up into a one-man-one act play!

America is sick and tired of paying for everybody else’s bills. The way I see it; our government is NO different than those governments which we fight to keep the people liberated. The ONLY difference is that we can drive beyond state lines (freely–for now) and not have to answer to guards carrying M16’s or AK47’s. But it’s coming.…there are too many people in this country who are sheep… and just go with the flow; avoid the wolves, ultimately it’s the sheep herders who really have a reality clue and are not blinded by the bullsh** that is being presented by a political agenda from our government. They are the ones who truly will survive.

Obama tells other leaders they need to step down from their positions, yet our government enslaves us and imposes various tax hikes (redistribution of my wealth), fees, businesses are crippled by amendments and laws, and hard-working Americans are penalized for achieving the American dream (through financial freedom by the opportunity which this country stands for). NOT TAKING A HANDOUT!

perhaps you need to modify and edit your response… our AAA+ credit just dropped to AA+…

oh, yeah, it’s Bush’s fault…

well, can you update your statement now?

But it’s Bush’s fault–I know… we ALL know.…
For every finger you point the blame to another, there’s 3 pointing right back at ya.… :)

Ditto!
Nicely put…

nicely put… hopefully she’ll shut up…

she’s a sheep…

So, how’s your ride going on so far? Let me know in 2 years when 50% of your paycheck has been reditributed to bum, unmotivated, leach-like individuals who will have the same things you have EARNED by WORKING HARD at YOUR expense.

Enjoy!

check out your facts before you post any data with stats or terms of office one has served…

you sound like an idiot when you post stats or time in office info … Obama was a state senator for IL.

Bush wasn’t getting a blow job while supposedly taking care of the country. 9–11 may have happened on Bush’s watch, but the detailed planning for the attack happened on Clinton’s watch. Slick-Willie just can’t keep his zipper up. Then again, look at what he’s got to wake up to and deal with…

Clinton was a draft dodger…Obama only did 2 years as a state senator…and Chicago isn’t all that in good shape… I can go on and on…but it’ll catch up with America and Americans. Before we’ll be able to do respond; the slow manipulation and deceiptfulness by the US Gov’t will void our US Constitution and USA will have socialism as our platform.
