The Obama Administration still doesn't get it. Sometimes you have to buy information and bribe your enemies to get things done. Special Operations and the CIA are needed now more than ever. Vickers is using the same techniques he learned at the beginning of his career from Vietnam-era operatives and his experience form 1980's Afghanistan, a very different and now obsolete lesson. Having experienced advisors around is needed to talk about whats been tried before, why it worked or failed, etc. DOD must stop using them to drive policy and bring in the warfighters who have recent and direct experience. Their ideas drive true innovation, not the people from past wars. People are always a product of their past.
