But never let the facts get in the way of a good idea. lol One of the reasons NOT mentioned was all the building and stocking of permenant facilities/bases undertakenby the Bush Administration. The previous administration intended to use Iraq like we now do Germany and Japan, then pulled a 180 just before the elections. Now we're stuck un-assing a country in a year that had 6-7 years worth of stuff poured into it. TMB — good point. But never let the facts get in the way of a good idea. lol

She asked if we were told to stop fighting and patrolling, pack up, and go home, how long would it take? The general told her in order to remove, clean, and transport every US-owned item, it'd take 18 months and something like 3000 convoys (if we did nothing but pack). I imagine the guys at the head-shed have to juggle quite a bit with maintaining combat missions, deciding what stays, what goes home, and what goes to Afghanistan.
