Stryker_Radar—good call—isn’t it interesting, distressing, pathetic, and disturbing that our commander-in-chief and the secdef would try so hard to throw senior military commanders under the bus when they disagree with those two and/or when they try so hard to get a handle on the hate mongrels (play on words) who hide behind religion (and since it isn’t Christianity, the perps need protection), civilians, women and children on the battlefield from Afghanistan to New York. I have mixed feelings about fighting on foreign soil except directly in our defense, but the good side of that is until Maj Hasan hit Ft Hood as a Jihadist, we kept the wolf at bay in Iraq and Afghanistan. It comes back home to roost that no matter the platitudes from our Prez, the Jihadist have a goal and they will not be deterred from that goal this side of Paradise. Let’s send them to final judgement and when they don’t get their time in Heaven with the purported virgins, let them weep for an eternity thereafter.

This idea has been my hope since the military has its own felicity to our Constitution. But with leaders like Gates and those who invite muslims into our military; I’m concerned that the Captains of the ship lack the courage and leadership to do so.

It’s interesting to see how this guys works. He seems to have this Dr. Jackal and Mr. Hide type of personality – totally different guy under the Bush Administration. Instead of worrying about leaked information he should be focused on having the President make a decision on troop levels in Afghanistan and backing his commanders in the field instead of throwing them under the bus.

I wonder if Obama´s vision sees US Armed forces as a major threat to the USA, as leeked from one infamous Whitehouse internal memorandum, he must keep US armed forces and all the contractors in somewhere outside of the US soil, just like Roman legions were not permitted to enter Rome. Because those guys still could walk into the Oval office and say “Enough!”. That must be one of Gateses and Obamas major worries.

Good point, Aleric though it is because they are so enamoured that they don’t even look to see if there are any problems till someone prods them to do so. Then it is likel the lumbering, burly elephant that, when prodded, mores one or two steps to the right, then plops down again.

On the one hand, they all keep talking about the need for reform in defense acquisition/procurment but they seem to just don’t want to know the problems.

Bizzare seems to be only word appropriate, unless you want to risk a law suit.

Looks like the Mods on this site may also not be into transparency, so let’s try this another way.

Where are the Selected Acquisition Reports (SARs)? The last posted was back in September 2008.

While at it, where are the forward projections in the Budget Papers — e.g. in the P-40 and P-5 Exhibits, say, for the Joint Strike Fighter F-35 Program and other failing acquisition projects.

The Obama-Gates political machine has even stopped the relase of the Selected Acquisition Reports (SARs) — the last to be released was for September 2008. And then there is the absence of forward projections in the P-40 and P-5 Exhibits in the Budget Statements.

So muh for transparency, let alone proper governance!

Well leaking information on the much DITHERED Afghanistan plan to reinforce(?) , withdraw (?), drawdown slowly(?) or ask the Taliban for permission is LONG overdue.
Gates and several of the Generals should resign over Barry’s continued Dithering/Donothing efforts.

I wonder id Gates will find a way to muzzle the informal Air Force tanker leakers or the competitors who want to fight it out in the Media so the acquisition can go forward with the thrice revised RFP.

Gates may be strong but even he cant convince McCain to let the process go forward.
