If they don’t like the conditions attached to the money, perhaps they will show the rest of the world that they really do care about their “sovereignty” and refuse to take the money?
Aid packages always come with strings attached, some more overt than others. At least the US government is out in the open about the strings.

Its really simple : The good solution is just hunt for Osama Bin Ladin and Al– Sawari and don’t do more than that. It’s simple and economical.

It our money, not the government money to give away!! Those 7 plus billions that the politicians in Washington are giving them should go to defending our own borders. Not to India. That money is better spent here. Why spent many billions fighting terrorism all over the world. when we can spend less and just keep them out of our borders? Let the world solve it own problems. If we can’t protect our own borders, how the h**l are we going to protect a foreign country?? We have some screwed-up people in DC.

The way I see it people are going to complain, no matter how many controls we can reasonably place on how Pakistan spends that money. I heard one analyst from Center for Foreign Relations say that we essentially keep Pakistan’s economy solvent.

I’m all for cutting the aide and pulling out of Afghanistan and dealing with whatever consequences may come…how many of the complainers are? American policy makers know that American’s are largely a thankless lot with a short memory.

Who’s going to give the Administration a pass, if Pakistan destabilizes and nuclear material falls into the hands of terrorists? Who’s going to give the Administration a pass if al qaeda reestablishes itself in Afghanistan? Who’s going to give the Administration a pass if another attack is eventually launched from that region against us?

That’s what I thought? Freaking catch 22 if you ask me.
