U.S. details aircraft on display in Paris

The Paris Air Show is right around the corner, and pretty soon you’ll be seeing lots of wall-to-wall coverage from your friends at Buzz and Defense Tech. In the meantime, here’s a quick update from DoD about who and what — in terms of birds — will be at Le Bourget this year.

A top Pentagon spokesman, Marine Col. Dave Lapan, announced that Deputy Defense Secretary Bill Lynn will be there, as will Brett Lambert from Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (Manufacturing and Industrial Policy). Top Pentagon weapons-buyer Ash Carter and PDUSD Frank Kendall will not be there there.  “From the JSF office, MajGen C.D. Moore and Joe Dellavedova are attending,” Lapan wrote.  There will be no F-35s at the show.

Per Lapan’s notice, the U.S. military aircraft set for static display at Paris include: “CH-47F, LUH-72, RQ-7 Shadow UAV, AH-1Z, UH-1Y, HH-60G, F-15E, F-16C, C-130J, C-17A, C-5A.”

So if you were hoping to see an F-22, looks like the answer is going to be non.

Bummer about the F-22 or F-35, but I understand about being a showcase and marketing event so what’s on display makes sense with one exception: a C-5A? Really? Not an “M” model?

The C-5M is scheduled to be at Paris — this must be a typo. They are already tasked to be there.

Pairs is notorious for spying. I’d want to keep F-35’s and F-22’s away from that type of scrutiny for the time being. As the F-22 has no foreign sales prospects and the F-35 is still ind development and has never ferried that distance yet, it’s — at the very least — a prudent decision to keep them home.

No F-22’s and JSF’s because their Programs along with the B-2 and NGB are going to be cut as well.… WE DO NOT NEED THESE PROGRAMS!!!!!!!!!! Stealth is DEAD.… Google SA-21 and S-400 read it and weap. We have yes once again been used by Lockheed Martin and the rest of the defense industry for years. We purchase these pieces of shit and they are worthless and overpriced. WOW… What a Concept. JSF has been in development since 1995 and it has flown a hand full of useless sorties. At $160,000,000.00 Each times 2600 this wothless overcost piece of shit. SEND IT TO THE BONE YARD or the FRONT GATE OF THE NEAREST BASE WITH AN I-BEAM up its ass.
