Philip Ewing is the editor of DoDBuzz; he came to the site from POLITICO, where he served as Pentagon correspondent and authored the widely read daily email column Morning Defense. Before that, Phil worked for the Military Times newspapers, covering the Navy. He has reported from 20 ships, Iraq, Afghanistan, the Horn of Africa, Haiti and elsewhere. He holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois at Springfield.
Phil is an enthusiastic amateur photographer, a whiskey connoisseur and a Washington Nationals baseball fan. He lives in Alexandria, Va.
